Going through old photos from the first Summit

We were going through old photos this week and found the ones from The CHAT Conference in Benin City, 2020.

That was the first time we brought people into one room for what later became the Innovate Africa Summit. Looking at the pictures now, a lot of us were very young. Some of the people who came that day as participants ended up joining the team. A few are now directors.

We gave out plaques at the end to thank the people who had worked on it. Some of them still have theirs.

The following year, October 2021, we held it again at the Edo Innovation Hub and gave it the name it has today. Mercy Agbede led the conference team that year. Then in 2022 we took it to Ghana, with a planning committee of 22 people across five countries.

If you were at any of these, find yourself in the photos.
