What to report after a mini-grid's first year

kwame_boatengContributor··1 view
A first-year report on a mini-grid is more useful with a few plain numbers: how many connections, the uptime and how it was measured, and what households spend compared with before. It is also worth recording what the power is used for. A design may assume lighting in homes. Whether shops and small businesses turn out to use more of it is worth knowing for the next one.

How should uptime be measured? Reported figures are not always measured the same way.

Say where it is logged and what counts as an outage. For example: logged at the inverter, counting any outage over two minutes. A figure without that cannot be compared with anybody else's.

Recording the economic use matters. If the proposal was written around domestic use, this is the number that will be missing later.
