Ask your registrar for documents early. Official letters and transcripts can take weeks, and a missing piece of paper is an easy way to miss a deadline.
Look at what the scholarship is for, not just what it pays. A fund set up for a particular field or region will read your application against that purpose, and a strong applicant who does not fit it still loses.
Apply even if you think you are underqualified, as long as you meet the eligibility. The people deciding are looking for fit, not for a perfect score, and the applicant who did not apply is the only one certain not to get it.
