Is it worth doing a masters if I want to stay teaching?

A masters can cost years of savings. For somebody who wants to stay in the classroom, does it change anything?

Be honest about what you want from it. For the classroom alone, it may not change much. For moving into curriculum or policy later, it can matter, because some of those roles ask for it.

Curriculum work is the direction I had in mind. That makes the question clearer.

Look for funded places before you decide. Paying from savings and studying on a scholarship are very different decisions.
