Does the name of a programme change who applies?

naledi_sContributor··2 views
The label on a programme can change who applies to it, apart from who it is for. A programme named for one group may put off some of the people it is meant for, and in other places the same label is what makes it feel safe to apply. If applications are lower than expected, the name is one of the things worth testing.

It can cut either way. In some places the explicit label is what makes people feel the programme is for them. It depends where you are.

It is worth asking a few of the people the programme is meant for how the name reads to them, before it is printed.
